ESRI Certified GIS Workshop: Introduction to Avenue
8:00 am -- 5:00 pm, May 24 - 25, 2003
Room 103, Building 46
California State University Monterey Bay
Tuition: $700

Course Content

Introduction to Avenue provides the skills and knowledge needed to use Avenue software to create a customized graphical user interface (GUI) to ArcView. This two-day course's task-oriented approach gives you the tools to get up and running quickly. You'll learn how to use the Customize dialog box and ArcView scripts to drag, drop, and click your way to a new customized interface. You'll write your own scripts to perform different tasks for all areas of GIS implementation. And you'll use Avenue to create, display, and query information and to output hard-copy maps.

Introduction to Avenue is ideal for students who are new to GIS, who have little or no programming background, or who prefer a task-oriented (instead of a function- or programming-oriented) approach. Completion of Introduction to ArcView or equivalent work experience with ArcView software is required.

Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive an Avenue workshop certificate directly issued from ESRI.
